How the DAWN yahoogroup works:
The DAWN yahoogroup is not a chat group. Only email tied to social activities that would likely be of interest to the women in DAWN goes out. Personal, chatty type messages are sent on a one-to-one basis between members, not via the yahoogroup. Messages for/about the events of for-profit organizations are only sent out if that group is providing DAWN or DAWN members with something (e.g., a discount). Such emails are only sent out very irregularly. The reason we do it this way is so that everyone isn’t overrun with DAWN email.

This is a private group and only the moderator has access to the email list to help protect the privacy of members. However, by posting messages on the DAWN yahoogroup, the sender gives everyone in the group their email address and any other contact information provided in the email. It is therefore best to exclude addresses and phone numbers from posted messages and to only provide them when corresponding on a one-on-one basis.
